My M8 unlock sequence has changed

Hi;
I really like my M8 and have had Marshmallow ever since it became available. I've always been able to unlock my phone by swiping up (from a black screen standby state). Suddenly, this week, that no longer works; now I have to first press the power button. I don't think I've changed anything, but I can't figure out how to fix this.

Can anyone help?

OK, I was able to answer my own question. All I had to do was reboot and it started working again.
