My Moto X is dropping emails, how can I pick them back up?

My Moto X is dropping emails

I have an Outlook account set up on my Moto X and I seem to receive emails okay, but they drop off after a few hours without me deleting them on the phone or my computer. They are still on the computer. Can anybody offer advise on how to solve the problem of dropping emails?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried removing that email account, then adding it back again?

Yes, I've removed and added the account back two or three times.

Ok, how about going to Settings>Apps>All, selecting Email, and Clearing Cache/Data, then Force Stopping?
