I bought the moto x pure about 2 weeks ago, and it worked perfectly fine with my pny 128gb microsd card for about 3 days. After those 3 days my phone did not recognize the card at all, while I could still access the card on pc. I formatted the card a few times to no avail. After testing a friend's 32gb microsd card with it successfully, I put my microsd card back into my phone, and it could recognizer it! Unfortunately, after trying to load music only the card from my pc, the phone is yet again unable to recognize the card.

What type of card is it?

Sorry, the forum won't let me post links, but the card is on amazon titled "PNY High Performance 128GB High Speed MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-I, U1 up to 60MB/sec Flash Memory Card (P-SDUX128U160G-GE)"

Are there any error messages?

I had a similar issue with my 200gb SanDisk. I formatted using the Pure and it worked after that. Had a lot of data to transfer back and forth though.

I got mine to recognize again yesterday and formatted it using the Pure. It worked for an hour or so, but has once again become unrecognized by the phone.

Hi,
Sorry I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I have a similar question for anyone who can answer. How do you access your SD card? Via a USB cable? From your PC?

I have noticed that if you remove the SD card whilst the phone is on and then reinsert it, you have to power the device off and then back on again for the phone to recognise it's there. I check it's recognising my SD card by going into settings and storage and USB, if it displays in there then you're good to go.

I've had a [SanDisk Ultra 128GB microSDXC UHS-I Card (SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA)] in my MotoXP since I bought it in early October with no problems or errors at all.

I've had this card in my moto x pe for about 3 months with no issues at all.

Are you unmounting to remove and remounting the SD card on insertion in the Storage part of Settings?

For the most reliability with the card, format the card in the phone and do the writing to the card in the phone via the USB cable. It's slower than using a card reader on the computer but you'll have less trouble with incompatibility and card failure.
