My navigation and maps are in reverse direction

The directions are correct but the routes look like I'm going backwards. It really confusing when it tells you turn left but really is pointing right, but they are correct.

Did something happen to my phone? I checked all the settings but couldn't figure out. It worked before, then I put in my dash where the speedo is and it instantly flipped.

Any help?

Turn off auto rotation and turn your phone upside down. At least that way it will be pointing the right direction.

I don't use my phone for GPS duties. I use a TOM TOM for that. But isn't there a setting to rotate maps? Honestly, when I do use my GPS, I use Telnav and not google nav. A few years ago on my OG evo google nav got me lost but Telnav saved the day. Never looked back.

Also, depending on the car/truck you have the speedo cable is/can be magnetic. That can cause your phone to flip out.

I noticed the same thing. Its very annoying. Its because it is always pointing north based on the compous.but idk how to change that.

I believe if you touch the red and white arrow on the map it with give you a more traditional navigation view.

Edit: Yep, worked for me. The arrow is in the top left of the navigation map.

Just checked and you are correct.

Also...your avatar is disturbing! lol

I've actually been experiencing an oddity with Navigation, myself. It works perfectly fine in the sense that it finds whatever I search for, and almost instantly provides the route. What has been happening frequently (like clockwork) is that on some of the main roads around here, it will show that I need to take a "u-turn" in order to continue going straight. Knowing the particular road(s) I'm on well enough to know that I can, in fact, continue going straight without any "u-turns" means the app is getting confused as to what direction on that particular road I need to travel. It's more of a nuisance than anything else, since it seems to only happen here and there, but my previous phone never did that, so I know for a fact it isn't a problem with where Google thinks things are.

Anyone else experience this? I'll post a screen shot if I can get one.

I don't know if anyone is interested, but If you haven't tried it, I definitely recommend Scout. It's actually the revamped version of the old Nav app. The directional aid is spot on, and the warnings (if you choose to set them) are right on the money. Rerouting is almost instantaneous. I'm still using the free version and haven't seen a need to upgrade to the paid version. Give it a try.

i had the same problem and your suggestion with the red arrow works --thanks
