My New Galaxy S III just SITS at a black screen help!

Hi, I am new here and I joined because my Galaxy S III won't work. I have had it for a week and all of a sudden today the screen went out during a text. The phone powers on and everything but it won't show images or anything, just a blank screen, but it still answers calls and functions. How do I fix this??? I tried taking the battery out and resetting but to no success someone please help!

If the screen is back how are you answering calls and doing other functions? Sounds like you have the screen dimmed all the way then even further with a 3rd party utility. Either that or the phone is malfunctioning. If none of that is true you can boot into Recovery Mode (power, up arrow and hoe key think) and do a device reset to factory default. If that fails, exchange the device.

I am able to receive calls because I remembered how to swipe the screen to answer. I called warranty and they are overnighting a new phone for me so I am pretty happy with AT&T's service

I had this issue. and i fixed it
worked after puting a new SD card on the back sd card slot.

I tried a bunch of stuf like :

1. used print_screen [palm slide] to navigate on the phone
2. used MyPhoneExplorer to see the screen

doing so i could reset, reboot ect... but nothing worked until i put the new SD card

i also tryed to change the SIM card, remove the battery ect...

im having the same problem too...putting a different sd card in really worked??
