My new Lenovo M10 will not run some apps

I just bought a Lenovo M10 tablet. The tablet is running the latest version of Android Pie. This is the first tablet that I have had in about 8 years. I mainly bought it to watch movies on some upcoming flights and browse fantasy football.

I loaded some apps onto it last night. When I tried to open the ESPN Fantasy Football app it just gets stuck on the loading screen. I am also having troubles with the Amazon and Amazon for Tablets app. The Amazon apps will open and display the search bar/menus at the top, but the main portion of the screen that shows products is just blank white.

Is this common for all tablets or is it Lenovo specific? I have an opportunity to return it and get a Samsung A10.1. Will this be any better?

This is the tablet I bought: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-tab-m10-10-1-tablet-32gb-slate-black/6360256.p?skuId=6360256

Did you get the apps from Play, or did you download them from somewhere else? If somewhere else, you may have apps that aren't compatible with Pie. There were a lot of changes made. (For instance, the analog clock widget I've been using for years still runs in Pie and 10, but it's not visible, so it's useless.)

Thanks Rukbat. I did download these apps from the play store. The Amazon and ESPN Fantasy Football app both say that "This app is not optimized for this device" in the play store. I run both apps on my Samsung Galaxy S9+ phone with Android Pie without any issues.

I wasn't sure if the Android Pie for Lenovo is different from Android Pie for Samsung. I've read that each manufacturer and cell phone carrier modify it, but I don't know much about it.

There will always be some apps that don't work well on tablets because the dev didn't bother to make it work on tablets (which is part of the reason why Android tablets have never really taken off).
