I think it's from a program or something but I don't see anything that could be turned off. Would doing factory reset help fix this? When I got my Nexus 7 about 4-5 months ago it had decent battery life like 8 hours only listening to a total of 2 hours of music, internet browsing, twitter, facebook and instagram. About 2 months after that it started to go down hill and I only got about 2-4 hours battery before I need to charge.

You should read some of the threads about battery life and follow the steps listed. The basic outline is to go to the Settings menu and see what is using the battery. Usually it will be an app you installed (in your case probably about 2 months ago). Maybe the app uses the GPS (you let it get detailed position data), or does not let the device sleep (TabletTalk and Goggle Now had this issue for me). But, you need to check of battery use to start tracking down where your battery power is going.

It sounds like an app that you've downloaded since the time you've started noticing the battery life decrease. The best thing to do would be to go into each app and check. Like Jerry says, it could be an app constantly using your location service, it could be one pulling data. A factory reset would fix it, but when you reload your apps, it could happen all again. If you do reset it, reload your apps slowly and monitor the battery life. You can then identify the rouge app this way.

Install an app called "Wheres My Droid Power". Let it run for a day or two without charging then open the app. It will give you details about which apps and services are using the most juice. More detail than the OS will give you. I've used in many times to diagnose battery hogs on my phone. Good luck!
