My Nexus 7 was stolen. Advice Solicited.

So sorry to hear this. A sad way to learn to keep things in the purse if in a public place. Is this specifically an employees restroom? Can you go to your HR and report this if so? You could offer a reward. Post a sign on bulletin board.
Bad karma to the jerk who stole from you.

I posted a sign offering a reward and no questions asked on Friday.
I did not have the conversation with HR, but I think I will (since the person who is "building management," per se, seem very unconcerned when I told her): thanks for the additional suggestion.
I also spoke to the cleaning crew leader, but he said no one had reported it.

P.S. Yes I think now I am going to have to lug around a tote bag everywhere I go in the building.
My very first Ipod that I won in a contest (and it had special engraving) was stolen from my desk a few years back - but once we changed cleaning crews those thefts stopped. Wonder who the culprit is now?

How do you send an SMS to your tablet?

If it's the wifi tablet, you can't. I had that problem with an older version of Avast AntiTheft. The current one phones home via any internet connection, so the web based commands work fine.

How do you trace a Wi-Fi only device? It's not cellular. Oh my fault I just realized that there are cellular version of the Nexus 7, I thought they were Wi-Fi only. What version tablet did you have? I don't think a Wi-Fi only tablet can be traced, never heard of that before.

Of course you can as long as it is connected to wifi. Also, to turn on gps, it would need to be rooted.
