My Note 3 keeps saying that the dock is connected when its not connected to anything. It also wont charge.

my phone randomly started saying that the back is connected when nothing was connected in it. it keeps saying that the dock is connected when I am charging it as well. I haven't dropped my phone and it hasn't gpt wet or anything. I connected the usb to the laptop to download my photos incase my phone stops working but nothing is happening, except that it is charging, but disconnects a little. it also keeps saying that I need to download an app so that I can share power and I have no idea what that means because I don't want it to share power.
any advise on how I could get it to charge again? and how to get it to stop saying that the dock is connected (when its not)?

Application Manager, tap the app, tap the Uninstall Update button.

I have a note 4 that was having the same issue. Uninstalled the Gmail update and it seemed to fix the problem.

my note 3 has suddenly staterd to do the above....it wil charge tho when powerd off for a minute ata time?

My Galaxy Note 3 had same issue. In my case helped soft crush of ends of cable

try using a stiff brush to clean your port. moisture from your fingers and tiny dust particles as well can accumulate in the port itself. had the same issues with my phone as well. totally flipped out when it didn't charge.

Having the same problem, this is the second time in a week, only cleaning the port and even factory reset didn't work, my phone isn't charging at all after saying it was connected to the dock... It was charging and started popping on and off connected to dock and plug in your charger.... Then stopped charging all together! Plz help!!

Sorry for my english, it isn't good ,I have just learning english for 2 month, I think maybe I found how to fix this trouble, the first is your device is rooted, then install Titanium Backup, provide root permission for app, into app>chose [backup/restore]>find "power sharing">click and freezen it>done, check you charge and USB with a PC or laptop , thanks for read.

Actually shocked..tried blowing air into the port not really believing it would work but figured I had nothing to lose by trying and it really did work. The message has stopped popping up and the phone is charging normally. Worth a try folks.

So this started happening to me yesterday, i believe after the samsung applications updated and updated but to my S4. So i followed what you guise said, uninstall the update didnt work and still doesn't charge well. I updated my phone to the 5.0 OS to see if that would work still nothing. To top it off when I updated out of the blue my dropbox stops working. A pop up comes up sayin dropbox has stop and when i click ok it comes up again. This happened every minute. I need help

So this is happening to me too know as of September 22 2015. And I have no clue what to do. I've tried restarting my phone,cleaning the cord, in Installing gmail updates so now I'm just so done with this bull...

I've found a fix. At first i thought my charger was broken so I bought a new one and the problem continued then i thought it was the port so i cleaned it and it kept happening so i did some research. Turn off your device, hold the volume up, home and power button at the same time and when a menu pops up let go of the power button and use the volume keys to get to "clear cache partition" and use the power button to select and once thats dont select "reboot" and it shoulf be fixed.

This began happening to my samsung s fix it after last update! Now when I plug it in to charge it won't charge only by laying it on the pad will it charge but does exactly everything yours is doing. I think they're right by saying we have a faulty charge port.

This is happening to my S six edge after last update the only way I can charge it is to lay it on the charger pad. Sometimes it will sit there and just kick on and off on and off on and off flutter with a rainbow screen.
