My Note 4 is dead....

It was getting slower and slower and less responsive. Battery was running down too quickly. After months of watching YouTube reviews decided upon the Samsung S10e and ordered one from Best Buy to be picked up in 7 days (locked from Verizon). Phone went black. Pulled the battery and reinserted. Tried to reboot and saw a screen that says Download...Do not turn off target!! It's been like that for over an hour. Could not do normal boot. See photo. How am I going to transfer my contents to my new phone?

Try hold volume up and power button for 10 seconds see if it will move from download mode

Yikes - too late. I pulled the battery and switched back to another battery. Seems to be charging. Five minutes ago and it's up to 22% - old battery that I just retired (11 months - bought from Best Buy). Returned the Anker battery I had retired and replaced with the Best Buy one - it worked for a couple of days. Never had battery probs. before. Will try to reboot after it charges to 80% or so. Thanks!

I woulldn't be overly concerned if you backup in Google all your main information will be on in your Google email account including your contacts etc., Also if you automatically backup your photos all will be fine. Hopefully, you email app you are using is cloud base ( Gmail, Outlook ) it all's well.

Thanks, Rowlette. I do use Gmail, and my pics are backed up to Google Photos.

Phew...I just rebooted it successfully after returning the nearly exhausted battery from Best Buy. I'm going to use the phone as little as possible until I get the new one. I was going to leave it in Airplane mode but I'm expecting some important messages so I have to leave it on.

The thought of having to install the apps I use was daunting. Hopefully I won't have to do so.
