it will plug in and stay in it like its catching its loose like it will move up and down like it wont touch the top or bottom but if i put pressure on the chord down or up itll charge but wont when i let go

Have you given consideration to trying a different charging cord? Are you using the OEM cord?

First thing to do is to figure out if it's your cable or the charging port on your phone. Trying a different cable should be your first step.

i just bought a new chord and i know its my phone like if i push down on the chord to move the charger on the inside up itll charge but once i let go it wont anymore so its the phone

I had the same problem with my note. I took it to sprint and they gave me another one. Mine was charging but I had to remove the battery and put it back in for the phone to recognize the charge.

Then you're right. Just the evidence of having to manipulate the cord doesn't mean it's the phone (for example, I've fought for years with shoddy audio cables on various devices that require me to fuss with it and point it a certain way to get them to work...normal wear and tear). But, if you've already tried a new cord, then it's time to take it in and get a replacement.

but i bought it through target and didnt buy a warranty im with at&t do you think if i go up there to at&t theyll give me a new or am i screwed

They will probably make you call customer support to get another phone. If it's still within the 1st year you shouldn't have a problem no matter where you bought it from.

I bought my wife a used Note i717 and called Samsung to get a repair on the charging port. I had the same issue, would only charge if pressure was applied in certain way. But in my case, phone was still under warranty through them and had the phone fixed free of charge. So give them a call and find out, all they will need is the IMEI number to verify if it is under warranty.
