My Note8 keeps freezing on standby

I am on Verizon and having the same issues. I pre-ordered and have been having this issue since September also. It would generally happen every 2-3 days for me. Charging at night w/ AOD off, and in my pocket during the day.

I have recently done a factory reset and just restored from my Samsung account. The freezing continued so I have uninstalled any apps that I don't use daily. So far it's been about 3 days and no freeze yet. So we will see. Nova launcher was one of the apps. I hate not using it but felt it could be the issue.

If it continues going well I will slowly start reinstalling apps in order of priority and wait several days to see what happens.
 
Samsung Concierge sent me to another Samsung service centre who and in matter of some 30 minutes identified the fault with the phone's memory chip. As this is part and parcel of the motherboard the whole motherboard was replaced and for two weeks now the phone has performed as it should have done so from day 1. Hope that this helps.

I haven't been really searching for the culprit online - but has anyone else had this diagnosis? If that's the case, no update will fix our problems it seems.
