Hello.. I have a Samsung Galaxy J5 2017.. I bought it a few months ago.. but sometimes I would be charging it and using it and it stops charging.. I have to ubplug it.. plug it in another charger or charge another phone with the charger or something until it works again.. most of the time it charges fine but at times it doesn't..

I don't think it's the charger.. because whenever it doesn't charge.. if I try another phone with the same charger then it works fine..

This happened to me before with my previous phone J5 2016.. it would do that sometimes and eventually stopped charging all together and died on me.. it wasn't from the battery because the battery is not bloated.

You may have an intermittent connection in the lead from the charger to the phone. Eliminating the 3 parts of the charging chain will be the best way to go. Changing the lead is cheap, then try another charger, if you still have a problem then the most likely cause will be the phone USB charging port.

I'm pretty sure the problem is from the phone, the charger works fine when I try it with any other device. I just don't understand because the phone is pretty new..

Depending on how new it is and if you are sure it's a fault with the phone, have you considered returning it for service under warranty?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you already checked the port to make sure it's completely clear of debris? Sometimes, lint can build up and get packed in there, which can then prevent the plug from fitting tightly. Use a can of compressed air to blow out the port, and a thin toothpick to root around and pick out any remaining debris. (JR Raphael, the excellent tech journalist who writes primarily for Computerworld, just recently described this issue in his latest podcast.)

I can imagine how it could work intermittently -- you push the plug in with enough pressure that it tamps down the debris and the connection is made. But as time goes on, the debris expands again, slowly exerting pressure against the plug, ultimately pushing it out just enough so that it loses the connection.
