My phone is frozen on the home screen, won't let me do anything. How can I get past this?

Help! Phone is frozen on home screen, won't let me do anything

I just restored my LG G3 to Android 4.4 after finally figuring out how to get rid of the awful new 5.0, and it was working fine. I just used LG Backup to restore a backup I made while it was on 5.0, and it said it successfully restored my data, minus a few items. I restarted it, and now Smart Notice has a loading icon going on it and my home buttons aren't showing up. I can turn the screen on and off with the lock button, but I can touch anything on the screen.
I tried restarting it and then I took out the battery and put it back and it's still doing it. Is there a way I can fix this without losing my data?

Ended up just resetting it again. Didn't get to recover anything.

Can't you have a second go at restoring from the LG backup? Also, did you not get Google account personal data restored?

I did retrieve all of my data from Google and from Verizon Cloud. I'll double check, but when do a factory reset, LG Backup removes any backup files. You would have to transfer the backup file to an SD card or computer.

Oh. I'd assumed LG Backup would be to the Cloud.
