Try use a fan or hair dryer on medium cool for about 5 to 10 minutes ...then retry

You can always charge wirelessly

What's worked for some is go into the app manager, clear the USB app data, then restart the phone.

I'm having the same exact issue. Getting frustrated. I actually had to change my sim card to the old pixel 2xl till I get issue resolved.

I was having the same issue with my note 9. I took it to a service center and they cleaned the USB C port and I haven't had any issues since then.

Have you tried more than one charger. I have 1 or 2 chargers that I get the same notice from. As long as I don't use them I'm fine.
