My phone is possessed

My Evo shift is totally going crazy. It is mainly doing this when I text using the touchscreen. What's happening is that when I'm writing a message, it keeps putting in random "W" or "A"s in almost every word. I will type the word "fun" and it will type "fwwauwwaza". I did a hard reset, which worked great for a while and now it's doing it again. I also wiped the screen really well and clean and replaced the screen protector. It's not just happening when I text but also in other programs. It will dial people in my contacts when I'm in my phone book. It will call people when i'm in my call history. It will push links when I'm in a menu.
Then it will just go away and work fine for a while.

Please help and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

It could be the screen protector. Try removing screen protector see if the situation changes. Good luck.

I did remove the screen protector and had it off for a while. It would do the same thing. So, I replaced it with a new one.

Ok, my screen protector is completely off and it is as clean as I can possibly get it. It's not just in texting also. I am playing angry birds and it is shooting birds off by itself in crazy directions. But then it will just stop and work fine. I've run Lookout and Antivirus for android and they come up clean. Totally bummed.

I was having this exact same problem, took the phone to a sprint repair store and they told me the screen was going out. They replaced it and no problems since.

Yeah, I took mine in too. They said it's a common problem with that phone. Paid $35 for a new repair and hopefully that fixes it. Thanks

This is my second Shift and on both of them the letters B and N would stop working on my touchscreen occasionally. So, if you ever hear a guy yelling "Dam_ You _astard Pho_e!" You'll understand why. :-/

what you discribe is default quick launch keys action. Check for a sticky search key. (the little magnify glass)
Go to Menu>Settings>applications>Quick Launch to see which key combos are set.

Did you check to see if your screen shortcuts were on or off?
