My phone keeps powering off again

It's been going on for a while. When I press power button phone will be off. Have to do battery pull to get it back on. I am currently running srf1.2 but it has been happening with every ROM i've tried. When I install setcpu is it says it cannot obtain access root.

Kernel 2.6.32.9
build twilight zone v1.1.1RC2

Got it. Had to go into SuperUser and allow permission. we'll see if that helps.

Are you saying if you leave your phone idle (just sitting there with screen off) for like 5 minutes, you wouldn't be able to turn on the screen? I used to have that problem too but my fix for that is to crank up your minimum CPU frequency to 600mhz.Hope that helps.
