How strange, I wonder if there were some "bad" updates that went out. My phone is fine no reboots no difference in battery drain at all, maybe even longer lasting than before the OTA.
One has to wonder what is happening. My phone has been fine since the udpate. No reboots, battery drain is not any faster than it was (it may actually be slower), connection to 4G is more stable. It's weird that some phones are having problems while others don't seem to be.
I was thinking the same thing, I had the battery drain problem till I pulled the battery the other day. But I keep consistently getting random reboots and actually yesterday, it shut off and didn't turn it self back on. I really don't understand what could be causing this but it's really pissing me the **** off.
I have seen many posts about this, and from what I've read it's a known issue with the new radio and they pushed it anyways, seems completely stupid to me. My phone just rebooted twice in the last ten minutes..
I didn't get any extra reboots. My battery drained faster than normal after the update, perhaps the updating and initial rebooting caused the battery drain. But sense putting in my spare battery, the power drain seems normal...for a Thunderbolt.
Would a factory reset help? I did it and could not be happier. Make sure you do not have apps running in the background, those known to kill the battery really fast.
If you are within your 14 day return period, then feel free, although a $35 restocking fee will apply.
Otherwise, we do not have the availability to manually discount any 4G phones or Apple products, so full retail is your only other option.
I won't lie, you are not going to get *that* much better battery on the Charge. That and given Samsung's track record, you will get Gingerbread in about 5 years. The Thunderbolt will have Gingerbread in a few months, which has better application management (and in turn battery management).
