My phone only charges ans is not detected by pc

[AC Question]

Until a month or so ago, my phone was always detected by my pc. Now not anymore.
The phone (Wileyfox Swift) can do nothing more then charge while connected to a pc. Also not with MTP.
I tried a lot in device manager on windows, but without results.
i tried to connect it with another computer, also no results. Just charging...
Even ADB can't find the phone.
I did a factory reset and that didn't solve the problem either.
I tried to connect to the pc with another usb cable (which might be a charge only cable btw). Only charging again...
Is this an OS issue? I fastbooted this phone in the past, and at that time everything was working, even after the fastboot...

Welcome to the forums. Are there PC drivers you need to update?

Welcome to Android Central. My first question would be what was changed about a month ago when it quit working? Have you enabled developer options and updated the drivers on the PC?

PC drivers are up to date. Developer options are enabled. USB debugging is enabled. Switching from charging to any other usb modus doesn't help...

Do you have a charging notification when you plug the device in?

The charging LED is burning (which is fine). But there isn't popping up any notification...

Have you tried a different USB cable? Or a different USB port in the PC? (There are 4 wires in that cable - 2 for charging and 2 for data. If one of the data connections went bad, in the cable or in the port, the phone will still charge, but you won't get any data connection.)

Glad you got it sorted. I would throw out that bad cable. No point in keeping it.
