I have a Motorola Edge 2024 Android phone, just recently, it quit letting me send any of my phone photos to my computer. I have my email address as a contact on my phone, when I wanted to save a photo that I took with my phone to my computer all I had to do was click on my email contact on my phone, open my message box, attach what picture I wanted sent from my photo gallery, click send, and it went straight to my email messages on my computer. My phone recently updated and it seems after the updates I wasn't able to send photos to my computer anymore, did something change on my phone that I have to reset? I've been sending photos to my computer address this way for over 2 yrs and now I can't, can anyone help me out?

My suggestion would be to upload the photos to Google Photos. Then you could access them anywhere as long as you log into your Google account. If you want to save them locally on your HDD, you could download them from your Google Photos to your HDD.

That ↑ ... and maybe check your phones email app 'permissions' settings, and default email settings; maybe something changed after the update you received. You could also try sending the pics to a different email address – just as experiment &c.

Btw, have you tried plugging your phones' USB cable into your PC—and enabling in your phones' settings, under: Settings > Developer Options >
Default USB Configuration > 'Transferring files' — so as to be able to drag & drop your photos from your phone to your PC?

I guess that's going to be my last option using a UBS cord, it was just so much easier after I took a picture to just go to my computer email contact and send it. I've been hearing about checking my phones email app like you said, where would I find that? I looked in my phone settings and found Apps, I went through them all and didn't see anything that said email app

Welcome to Android Central! This may be a dumb question, but can you clarify if you were sending these photos via email or the texting app?
I'm not really sure what you mean, I'm in the dark when it comes to phones and computers. I have my email address in my contacts on my phone, just like a persons contact name, only it my email address. I'll click on my email contact, my text message box comes up, I'll type in the photos name, then attach the photo to my text message. I hope this helps..

It sounds like you've been in the habit of sending these photos via the texting app rather than email, as described here: https://www.sociocs.com/post/how-to-send-text-to-email/. That's not the most efficient way of doing what you're trying to accomplish. If you really want to send the photos as an email, it's better to select Share, then your email app, then send it to your email address that way.

There are a few reasons why you might be having problems sending photos to yourself via the texting app. Are you able to send photos to anyone else via text?

As Laura Knotek mentioned above, it would be way more convenient to back up your photos automatically using Google Photos. Saving photos to your computer is ok, but remember that bad things can still happen to a computer or its hard drive, and if any of those photos are precious, you could still lose them forever (unless you do a secondary backup to another physical drive). Backing them up to the cloud is much more reliable.

Yeah, I can send photos to everyone using text message, I just open my message app, click on the attachment icon which brings me to my photo gallery, find the picture I want to send and click on it, it sends just like a text message. You say if I wanna send photos as an email it's better to select Share, then my email app, then send it to my email address. Where can I find this email app everyone is talking about, were is it or how do I find it.
