My Phone Says Custom Build Version, Why?

For some reason my Moto g(8) Power Lite says Custom Build Version does that mean my phone has been rooted? I have not rooted it myself or even attempted to do so. Is there a way to remove any unauthorized custom ROMs from my device any advice could be appreciated, thanx.

Or, was there a previous owner who might have rooted the phone or installed a custom ROM?
