My phone will not receive text vibration

My phone will not give a text message vibration when I receive a text message unless I have vibration on for notifications. I have hard reset and soft reset my device. I've done everything possible and still can't fix it. I've safe mode It, downloaded LED and nothing works

Go to Settings, Notifications, turn off all of them except your text sms app. Allow others as you please.

Dan1200r thank you for your advice I tried what you had said and it still did not work I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 by the way.

Are you saying that you turn off being notified in the selection screen but everything notifies you anyway?

On my Samsung Galaxy note 8 I have my settings set to vibrate. In sounds and vibrations, I turn off vibration for notifications such as emails and other apps and I still received text messages with vibrations. I woke up yesterday morning with a black screen I had to soft reset it and when it came back online my phone would not receive vibrations with text messages unless I went Into the vibrating section in settings and turned on vibrations for my notifications.

Sounds like it updated overnight and the default notification was in the code, so you went back to Settings and re selected your preferences. Is it keeping your preferences, or is it changing on its own? If so, be sure you are selecting Save on many options to change.
