My phone won't connect to my SIM

[Android Central Question]

I know my SIM card works because I tried it in another phone and when i remove the SIM from the phone the phone realises there isn't a SIM card inserted but when the SIM is in it just keeps saying searching and won't let me access any of my contacts and people can't even phone my number
