my phone wont read my GSM sim card?

so i have a samsung galaxy note 5 n920p. i have checked the imei numbers and the device i have is definetly not stolen or blocked. the thing is this is phone to be used in the US. the phone appears to be unlocked and can even receive calls but whenever i try to call someone it says that i am not registered on any network. i am try to get my gsm work on my phone. please help

That phone is a Sprint phone.

Compare the bands listed for the N920P here to what your carrier uses. If the N920P does not support them, it won't work on your carrier.

A Sprint phone uses CDMA, not GSM, so a GSM SIM won't do any good in the phone. You need a 920S or 920T for GSM.
