My phone won't turn on and it got really hot, what can I do?

My phone wont turn on and it got really hot

I have a Moto G 2014 and it has so far been a fairly reliable phone, but yesterday it's screen stopped turning on despite having around 80% charge. Then it started getting hot; like really hot, the top half of the screen was too hot to touch. So i just left it alone for a while and it has cooled down but still wouldn't tun on EVEN AFTER I CHARGED IT.

Welcome to Android Central! Leave it plugged into a wall outlet for at least 4 hours, undisturbed, Then try powering on by pressing and holding the Power button for at least 15-20 seconds.
