You know, if you are curious, you can probably try the Whitestone Dome

It’s an expensive glass protector but it’s arguably the best one out there. The install process is involved but it does actually look as if there’s no protector at all, and feels just like a phone screen due to an oleophobic coating.

I had my phone naked, and then our hell child Vizsla pup knocked it off the table and cracked the screen. First time ever using insurance, and first time I've ever cracked a screen, my phones were always naked. Not naked any more though, that dog cannot be trusted.

Damn, my phone fell out of some shallow pockets onto a rock while riding around in a Kubota. It dinged up the side, but I'll take that over ever using a case.

Go without a case for even a week and then try to put one on... You'll hate it.

I used to be all case all the time, but I've found I drop my my phone MUCH less without one than with one. If I crack the screen, oh well that's why I bought insurance

So glad only the side got a little banged up - especially after what you were doing! Lucky! Smart that you got insurance on it, too. Do you have the 2 XL or the 2?

I have the regular 2. From playing with both, it felt a little more rugged in my opinion. Plus I like the smaller form factor

That's great! I too am leaning towards the smaller Pixel 2.

My Wife has the 2, I have the 2 XL. I agree, I think the 2 would be able to take a hit beter than the XL. Those Bezels may be ugly, but they add ruggedness.

That's cool how you both have Pixels! Awesome! I personally love bezels so I'm excited to get it! Now I just need to decide what colour to get and whether to buy it from my carrier or through Google. What colours did you two get?

Both went with the basic Black. I wish I would have got the Panda/Stormtrooper. She wanted the sorta Blue, but it was only offered through Verizon at the time, and she is on Project FI.

Black is a very classic look! Apparently they have Stormtrooper-like cases somewhere! At least, that's what I've heard!

Dbrand has customizable skins you can make and a lot of them resemble the Panda. Here is one that is actually the Panda design:

Edit: I literally just made myself a Panda skin and ordered it for my future Pixel 2.

I don't know how it is where you are (UK?) but I stopped buying phones from carriers a long time ago. Too much bloatware, delayed updates and so on. You want it "pure" buy it from Google.

I am from Canada! It has been suggested for me to buy outright from Google from others, as well. Apparently they have a 24-month payment plan...

you can buy from a place like Best buy and not be tied to a carrier either. That's what I did and I'm on AT&T
