My play store has stopped on my phone can someone please help me

I dont really know what happened I was playing a game purchased something for the game and its telling me the play store on my phone has stopped and I try to press the icon on my phone that says playstore and the screen goes white then it goes back to my home screen. I reset my phone and it still doesnt work

Go to Apps in Settings, and remove all updates (reset to factory version). Clear it's cache (or app data, whatever it says on your phone) then try signing in again. Make sure that after resetting your phone, you don't install anything before you try this. This might work. If it doesn't then it could be a bigger problem with your phone. What phone are you using?

Bigger question are you on a custom rom??
