My real world battery life

So I've had this phone for under a week and after the first few days of just tinkering with the phone and getting used to the UI, I decided to see how long my battery would last with my normal use. I'm very happy with the phone overall. Only change for me is switching to the SwiftKey keyboard. Everything else is stock. I'm coming from an HTC one M7 and this phone is like a breath of fresh air.

My results are with data off, WiFi on the entire time, regular Web browsing (at least 4hours), light you tube use (probably 2 hours of video watched), 3 hours of hockey streamed through chrome cast, regular use of messages/email/social media. Location was set to WiFi, and screen brightness on auto not going above 50% (even at low 25% brightness is enough for me).

Results may vary, but this is my use during the weekdays. Probably will have to charge more on the weekends because I use the phone more.

Also, found out last night after hitting 5% that my phone doesn't like the gs6 quick charger, charged only 39% in 2 hours and when I plugged it in to the charger, phone said it was slow charging.

Looking good! I'm still hitting just 3.5hrs SoT with normal use. Does streaming Pandora count towards SoT? I didn't think it did

Today I dropped to 26% by 1:30PM. Data on, Wi-Fi off, 7:50 since taking it off the charger, 2:07 of SOT. ~30 minutes of Waze navigation, and other random use, but no games, streaming video, etc. Screen on Auto at 6%.

This is worse than typical for me, but still a real result. And not nearly as nice as what you achieved!

In your post if you add up the hours you say you was browsing Web, watching YouTube and hockey it adds up to 9 hours. But your on screen time is 5 hours. Just doesn't add up.

Watching hockey was through chrome cast. Screen was off during that time. Also those where rough guesses on use for those applications.

So I installed the GSam Battery app to keep track of my battery life and to see the temp as well. App was installed after I posted the thread originally. I have the brightness on 50% auto and it's plenty bright for me.

During the week light usage i still have lots of battery left at end of the day. I still put it on the charger even if at 40%+

After disabling most of the Google battery drainers (Chrome was a killer), and a few Verizon bloatware apps I have between 25-45% left when I go to bed, however I haven't navigated with my Waze app. This should be the last true test for me.

I know. I've hardly ever used my phone as a phone since text messaging came out years ago. But I use it for everything else. Voice calls for me are very few a week.

I'm trying to track down an issue in one of the other battery threads. Your numbers only support my feeling that my screen time is very good , but especially compared to SoT, my overall battery life is horrendous.

Gsam (since 6/16) has me at an Avg Per Complete Charge, Screen On of 4 h 50 m (4 h 2 m Max). However, in that time my Battery Life is only 10 h 54 m (7 h 18 m Max). Together, that just doesn't make sense at all.

I'd say you're getting very good battery life. Congrats and enjoy.

Here's another one. I actually had auto brightness off for about half of the SOT life and it was set to 50%.

I may have misunderstood what you meant, but you can take a screenshot by holding down the Power and Volume Down buttons at the same time. If you want to take one without needing to use an app.
