I have an s4 which I broke, by dropping it, and the result was a broken lcd and digitizer. I know it is still on because it has notifications and when I call it, it vibrates. Anyways it was time to get a new phone but I needed to get my data. I bought a 5 in 1 MHL adapter(link to pic below) and plugged in all I needed. HDMI to TV, power, and of course a mouse in the usb slot so I could control it. I saw videos of this working and thought it might work.
This part may seem unnecessary but it's just some more detail: On the 5 in 1 MHL adapter there is a light bar/button(see in link) and once I plug it to power it goes red. If I remove the power it goes off, but then once I click the button, it goes blue. I remove it form the phone and no light comes on.
Can't put link but to find what I was talking about go to google and search "5 in 1 mhl adapter" and go to images. First one is the one I have.
Please help me out here.
