My S4 Mini died and doesn't seem to be charging and won't switch on, what could the problem be?

My s4 mini died and doesn't seem to be charging and won't switch on

I got my new s4 mini earlier today and whilst out it switched off after battery became flat and I plugged it in but doesn't seem to be charging and has no signs of life. Will leaving it plugged in over night work or is it a bad phone

Welcome to Android Central! So this was a new phone, bought from a retail store? Or was it refurbished, or used?

How long did you wait for the phone to charge before trying to turn it on again? I'd leave it charging on the wall outlet undisturbed for a few hours, then see if you can power it on. If not, take the battery out, lay it flat on a table, and try to spin it. If it spins freely, it's bulging in the middle, which suggests a defective battery. Bring it back to the store and ask for a replacement phone or battery.
