My S7 keeps minimizing my apps even when I'm using them

It doesn't matter what Im using it keeps minimizing and taking me to the recent list

Welcome to Android Central! Are you certain you're not accidentally touching the Recent Apps button by accident?

Definitely sure! Have a glass screen protector as well. It will minimize then go back to full size if more than 1app is open.
It's COMPLETELY doing my head in!
And this took forever to write!

Sometimes screen protectors can produce false touches..
Dial *#0*# to check the screen hardware..

Have done it and even taken the screen protector off, wiped it down!
Still have the issue

Have just noticed that the actual light doesn't light up? If that makes sense?
The return light does but not the recent apps light

The button itself might be faulty, then, which would require a trip to the repair shop. But just in case it's due to some 3rd party app causing problems, see if the problem persists in Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28008

That's unfortunate. Is it still under warranty?
