AC Question

Hello, my Samsung Galaxy S7 puts itself on lockscreen whenever I'm playing a game, Youtube etc (it's really random). Anyone knows how to fix it?

Welcome to Android Central! Moved to the S7 forum.

Is the screen actually turning off first, or does it transition directly from whatever app you're running to the lockscreen?

Does the screen dim first, then turn off? If so, that sounds like the normal screen timeout. Even if you're playing a game, the screen could potentially timeout if you haven't touched it for the whole timeout period. An app would have to be properly coded to keep the screen awake beyond the timeout period (aka, a full wakelock).

However, this shouldn't happen at all with YouTube--you're sure it's happened when watching a video?

Yes, I'm sure. I'm going to get my phone checked next week, there's a lot wrong with it. I can't even use my head/earphones anymore.

If everything still works normally in Safe Mode, then I'd suspect some 3rd party app. Before taking the phone to the shop, you could try uninstalling all apps and seeing if the problem persists (or do a factory reset, and after finishing the Setup Wizard, go directly to the Play Store and stop any app from automatically installing).

Also, most apps that lock the screen need some special permissions. Go to your security settings and see what is listed under device administrators.
