My S8 icons are always displayed in a frame!

My icons are always displayed in a frame even though my settings are set to be displayed as icons only! Tried switching it to be with frames and then icons only and tried resetting my phone but still no use. I just updated my phone this morning and that is when it started to happen

Are ALL of your icons in frames? I hate that too, and turned it off. Nearly all of my icons aren't in frames, HOWEVER all of my Google ones (gMail, Play, YouTube, etc.) are still in frames. I think those are just the icons. I'm not a fan of those either. They're ugly.

From what I have read each individual app creator is responsible to update the icon to fit the new Oreo update format.
