My S8 screen recycles?

My s8 is over 2 and half yrs old. When I'm on it for awhile the screen will go black (or shift) like it is rebooting for a second or two and then goes back to the screen I was on. Is this because the phone is old or what could be causing it. It's been going on for a month or so.

Welcome to Android Central! Chances are that the screen is just starting to fail. I'd make sure all of your important data is backed up or synced somewhere, and start looking into a new phone. Or bring it to a repair shop.

What do you mean that the screen shifts?

It sounds more like (with the "shifts") failing screen driver circuitry (on the motherboard). Same thing, though - back up anything you want to not lose.
