IMO, the setting ‘Flip to Shh’ is one of the most important settings on a phone and it worked exactly as expected on my old Pixel 3. However, on my new OnePlus 12, I have set the setting ‘Slip to mute incoming calls’; but today, for the second time, a spam call came in while the phone was flipped, yet it rang. What the BLEEP is going on???

I've never heard it called Flip to Shh. At first I thought it was an acronym for something. Anyway, this seems like a feature I use on my Sammy which is flip to silence. I don't know if it stays silent when face down but it will go silent if flipped. I put your question in Google and got this response.

The 'Flip to mute incoming calls' feature on the OnePlus 12 (running OxygenOS) works differently than the 'Flip to Shhh' gesture on a Pixel 3, which is likely causing your issues. While the Pixel 3 uses a deep integration with Do Not Disturb (DND) to turn off sounds, the OnePlus feature is generally designed to mute an active, ringing call rather than prevent it from ringing entirely.

It went on to talk about what the possible causes might be, read more here, and ended with the advice to set-up and use DND instead to get the experience you enjoyed before. I know what you're thinking DND is going to be a pain to enable and disable but you should have a quick setting's toggle for DND, where you could just pull the notification shade down and tap to enable or disable.

Let us know if this helps.
