Oh, dear. Welcome to my club. My first S8+ worked fine for a couple of days then quit charging. I did everything Samsung support suggested, then they gave up and I took it back to Best Buy and they exchanged it for a new one. This one worked fine for about a week, then started behaving erratically when I attempted to charge. Sometimes it would recognize the charger, say it was charging, but my phone would actually lose charge while sitting on the charger unused. Sometimes it wouldn't recognize the charger, but when an incoming call canned in, it would start "charging" but still lose charge. I did everything Samsung tech support asked, even tried two different chargers, with no result. Samsung asked me to send it in for repair and I was waiting to see if Oreo fixed it (it didn't) so now not sure what to do. Don't really want to be without my phone for 2-3 weeks...
