My samsung galaxy s3 mini is acting up

My samsung galaxy was acting up shutting off after a minute of being on and staying on the red verizon screen when turning back on. I tried to do a factory reset and it didn't work so I did a hard reset and it seem to be working then back to normal. What can I do? What could be the problem?

Welcome to Android Central! So after the hard reset, it seemed to be working normally, but then went back to shutting off on its own and then rebooting?

A factory reset is the same as a hard reset. What two processes did you do?

Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. s3, safe mode, i9300, ,GT-I9300

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.
