My Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini won't turn the screen of while resting

My samsung galaxy s3 mini screen won't go off when it is resting. It just turn off couple of seconds then it just turns itself on again to my screen lock and stay there with all the lights on. It is really annoying because my battery drains really fast. I have tried to restart it and reboot it, but it has not helped at all. Please help me!
The rest of the phone runs like normal, it is just the screen who is the problem.

Welcome to the forums! You may want to try a factory reset if all else fails.

Is it any kind of case or anything. It almost sounds like something is pressing the power button or something screwy. When you did a factory reset did it immediately start doing that again?

It didn't change after I did a factory reset. I took off the case I normally used, and it seems like nothing is pushing the button down. Maybe the sensor the button is connected has become wet or somehow broken. I think I would ask the store I brought the phone from, if they know what to do.

Same problem here, plus the home button (the central one) doesn't work.
It is very probably linked.
I'd be interested to hear what happened to you.
I'd like to know if it is a hardware or software problem.

Exactly the same problem happens with my s3 mini. Loos like it's a hardware issue since I also reset and reinstalled all again.

Same problem here. Samsung Galaxy Legend screen suddenly will not rotate!

FIXED! Go to Settings, Display, make sure auto-rotate is on! DUH!

Anyone had any luck here. Have also done factory reset and flash. Worked for a time yesterday but after recharging the battery it wont stay off again :-(

Worked for a time yesterday

Try rebooting into Safe mode http://support.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/59242 and see if the problem persists - if it doesn't then a 3rd party application is causing your problem.

I found a solution: remove the external SD memory card and reboot it. It should work

HI, took me ages as well, in the end i turned off all the buttons on the drop down menu, and it stopped and from process of elimination found it was the sync button, stays off now.

I have the same problem, and i have a trick to solve it. First you need to flash your galaxy mini with lollipop omnirom (visit xda developer to find how) once your phone has lollipop, go to setting > button select disable hardware button and use default on screen navigation. And all done
