My Samsung note 8 GT-N5120 tablet battery is draining in 30-40 minutes

I am not sure why my battery is draining so fast in a half hour or so?

That's quite an old device, released in 2013. Batteries don't last forever, this one is likely close to the end of its life.

I would suggest that since the tablet is running a version of Android that is no longer supported, you take the money you would spend on replacing the battery and just get a newer tablet that will support newer apps with new features.

Agree with hallux, but if your set on running this device , then replace the battery.
