My Samsung5 screen has fotten very dark, what did I do wrong? Anyone else have this problem?

I was talking on my home phone when my S5 rang. I tried to make it stop and must have hit something wrong, i can fix this?
the screen went very dark, I can hardly see the icons. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this, I don't know what to do. Thanks

Sounds like you adjusted your screen brightness bar down from your notification shade.

Now, go somewhere you can see what's on your screen (a dark place) and pull down your notification shade. You should see a bar with a sold circle all the way to the left. Push and drag the bar back to the right to brighten your screen.

You may have a box to the far right that you can check and it will automatically adjust your screen brightness to your surroundings.
