My samsung tab 10.1 will not charge at all what can i do?

My galaxy tab 10.1 will not charge I will put it on the charger before I go to work and it will only be at 43 percent battery 8 hours later I turn it on and it starts draining battery super fast . I just tried to unplug the battery and plug it back in like a video I found said to but I'm running out of options I can't buy a new charger or cable my budget won't allow what can I do to fix this?

Try unlocking the Developer options, Then disable all animations + Decrease brightness + Enable Hardware GPU Rendering....
That slows down battery draining by a noticeble amount...
