My son had his s6 active fall out of his pocket and now this screen is black.

I though they were supposed to be super tough, he has only had the phone for less than 3 months, Will Samsung replace this?

Welcome to Android Central! Even "rugged" phones can drop at exacty the wrong angle and velocity to damage a screen. If there's evidence of damage, Samsung will most likely not honor the warranty. Was the phone insured at all?

It might just be a loose connection. You could try bringing the phone to a repair shop (or opening it up yourself) and checking the connections.

Learning lesson for dad: kids don't need such expensive "toys". Get him a lawnmower and make him earn a phone - bet it wouldn't have fallen out then!
