My Sprint upgrade is June 1st: any work around to get pre-order?

Just wait until June 1st! That's only 2 weeks after the release!!

Yes, I just got back from Best Buy asking about the pre-order deal they have for the EVO 4G LTE and they informed me that Sprint can move your upgrade date up by 2 weeks! I called Sprint and they said they could move the date up BUT not until the day that is 2 weeks prior to your original date. Go figure, 14 days before June 1st is May 18th, the day the EVO 4G LTE will be released!!! His advise to me was to contact them first thing in the morning to get the ball rolling as it can take anywhere from 2-4 hours for the date change to show up in the system.

Here's another little tid-bit if you plan on pre-ordering from Best Buy. Best Buy is offering $100 for an EVO 4G trade-in plus and additional $50 from them. So, if you trade in your EVO 4G on the day you go in, the new EVO 4G LTE will only cost you $50! They don't have a special promotion for EVO 3D tradeins, go figure, but they said they would give me $60 for my E3D! Say wha!?! $40 less for my last generation phone! My diabolical plan now, is to activate my wife's EVO 4G on my line and activate my E3D on her line. She will get an awesome upgrade and I will take in her 2 generations old phone and get almost double the trade-in value! It's a win-win for everyone!

I was told the same thing by customer care chat except that I was told May 19th. No mention of having to call for a date change though. They made it sound as though it's automatic as long as it 14 days or less before your upgrade date.

Just a word of warning on that 2-4 hours - that may be the time on a normal day, but as you can imagine May 18th will be a killer for Sprint customer service. Good luck!
