My swype stopped working?

I guess the same thing happened to me. This sucks because swype is the best way for me to text. I think there's something similar, so I'm going to try that next. Just don't remember what it is.

There's a keyboard called "SlideIt" in Android Market that is similar to Swype (swipe-to-type)

I can understand that. But if they would put it on the market, I honestly say I'd pay $10 for swype. Even in 'beta' stage. Oh well, I guess I won't blame AC.

I would too. I guess what seems weird is that it comes preloaded on certain phones but they can't get any kind of public release out for the rest of us.

I was reading in another forum, i guess they got themselves into some kind of binding contract. Not sure exactly though. But yea, that is whats weird, becuase if they made it public and paid, they would be rolling in the dough. Thats for sure.

Just got done installing this. It doesn't seem to be working. When I try and Swype a word after I lift my finger the entire border of virtual keyboard has a blue line that flashes once. Any ideas what I did wrong?

I just installed SlideIt and it isn't bad at all. I can't say it is Swype good but really close. The only thing I don't really like is that you can't hide the keyboard but I so rarely need that anyway when I'm actively typing. Try it. There is a free trial. If you don't like it you don't have to pay and it is pretty cheap, 5.

Just wanted to add my input here. I know you guys love Swype, as do I. It's pre installed on my Fascinate and it works well. Unfortunately it is not legally available to everyone, and posting the apk or even linking to it is a no-no in the forums. The only legitamate method of obtaining this software is via their beta or on a phone where it is pre-installed. I appreciate your guys cooperation in not posting it here.
