when i try to open google it says something about failing to get dns

Do you have other devices connected to the WiFI that are working?

My first guess would be that the WiFi configuration on the router is incorrect and not providing a DNS entry for your tablet.

Try rebooting the router; just today I resolved a wifi problem with a router reboot. ..
