AC Question

I know that this question has been asked before. I have spent last night and all this afternoon searching the web for answers. I have found a few answers. Some of them in more than one place. None of them have worked for me. I have an ancient Nook and a Lenovo Tab 2A. Up until a few weeks ago I could go to the above website and get either of them to ring (I put them down somewhere in the house and forget where). A few weeks ago, the Lenovo stopped appearing in the menu and the site just immediately started locating the Nook. Since I don't use the Nook due to a battery that lasts about 3 minutes, this is not real useful.

I have followed this set of instructions which I have seen posted in several locations:

From Ryan Lestage on Google+:

Clear data for the following apps:

Play Store
Download Manager
Google Services Framework
Restart your phone.

Fire up the Play Store app.
Wait for the device to show again on the web Play Store. It will appear under Settings > Devices. It may take a half-hour to several hours to appear.
When your phone has shown up in the Play Store with the date registered as today's date, proceed with the next steps, but not before.

Open Google Settings from your device's apps menu.
Touch Android Device Manage(security).
Uncheck Allow remote factory reset.
Go to your device's main Settings menu, then touch Apps > All > Google Play services.
Touch Clear Data. Note that this action doesn't remove personal data.
Go back to Google Settings and Security and select Allow remote factory reset.
Restart your device.

And, yes, Location Services are turned on.

This has failed to get the Lenovo to appear. Note that if I go to play.google.com/settings and display my devices, both the Nook and the Lenovo show up. If I check "Show in menus" for the Nook then it shows up in the search. I I uncheck it then it does not show up. The Lenovo does not show up in either case. It shows a "registered On' date of Sept 11, 2016 and shows no date for "Last Used". This tablet gets used daily, even constantly, but these dates (or lack thereof) have been unchanged through the previous procedure (which I have done 4 or 5 times). I have also gone to Settings/Accounts/Google and synced the device several times with no change. BTW, I am now getting sync errors when I try to sync the device, so I am rebooting it, again. Still getting a sync error with a message at the bottom of the screen saying "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." Is this a problem on Google's end?

Does anyone have any ideas of other things that I can do to get the Lenovo tablet to show on the menu to locate it?

Well, not only does the Lenovo tablet not show up in the menu even though it is checked as visible in Google Play settings. Now a new device has appeared on the menu and in Google Play settings.

Interestingly, I am not running anything on VirtualBox. This says that it was registered almost two years ago, but it wasn't here a week ago when I posted my initial problem. Is this a major Google problem that will (I hope) sort itself out eventually?

I am calling this one solved. I apparently misread something and did not get everything done properly and in the correct order. I went back through all of the steps last night and as of this morning the Lenovo tablet is back in the menus and getting located.

Now, can anyone suggest a way to get rid of the Virtual box device that just showed up out of nowhere last week, but says it was registered almost two years ago? I do have it unchecked in Google Play Settings, so it won't show in the menus, but it would be nice if it were not in there since it is not a device that I have ever used, unless it was while playing around with Android programming and virtual devices. That might match the registration date. But why did it just show up now?
