My texts and google maps voice directions do not play when bluetooth is on, on my Samsung J7 2017.

When I get into car or use my earpiece my text can't be heard and if I use google maps I have to disable the Bluetooth in order to hear directions. I'd like to hear them through my car speakers.

Go to Settings/Bluetooth when the phone is connected to the car. Tap the gear to the right of the connection name. Make sure that "Media" is checked. If it's not there, your car audio system can't do media. If it's already checked something is wrong with the phone or the audio system, and will have to be diagnosed further. (If the earpiece is Bluetooth, do the same thing when it's connected - enable Media in the Bluetooth page/the Earphone gear.)

Also make sure that your media volume isn't all the way down. (Connect the earphone or the car audio, then hit the Volume Up button.)
