A few months ago I went from owning a LG Optimus S to the GN2 and let me tell you, it is like night and day. Personally I do not care at this point what any other phone can do, I really enjoy the capabilities that this phone has and it is still so relevant. I went to the Sprint store and tinkered a lot with the G4 and the One, and both are really great phones. I would use them in a heartbeat but my point is, I did not feel that I was missing out on anything on the GN2 compared to those phones. There will always be phones with better specs on paper but the average user really should be happy with any of these latest phones including the GN2. My phone still stops people in their tracks due to the size and how wonderful the screen looks. As for people complaining about Samsung bloatware and the plastic backing, I just turn a blind eye. Every phone has programs loaded on by the phone manufacturer and the cell carrier. If you want Vanilla, get a Nexus, One or S4 that is pure Google.
I have the coolest case on my phone (in my opinion). It is all chrome around the phone and the back is chrome covered with silver sparkles. Yes, it is girly, but I am a girl LOL. However, it is sturdy and I do not even see the plastic backing. Also it looks awesome with the white color of the phone and the case just masks any indication of plastic. Personally, the plastic does not bother me, I like the look of the Samsung phones but I care more about the screen size and the clarity of the screen itself (on any cell phone). My Optimus S wasn't exactly a looker but it served me quite well for almost two years.
I may be in the minority, but 16GB is plenty of space for me. Would I prefer 32 or 64GB of space? Sure, but that would have came with a cost if it was available on Sprint. I learn to manage what I am given and buy what I can afford.
I put in a small 8GB SD card which holds my photos (which is not many). I really use my digital camera most of the time for pictures. Luckily I have not had to remove the back nor the battery as of yet but I do like the fact the battery is removable. I remember at times my Optimus S acting wonky, and I was able to pull the battery when needed.
As for updates, I know the phone is promised 4.2 (and now 4.3) and possibly even Key Lime Pie, but I am in no hurry. The phone is just great for me the way it is. I know it will be updated and will be happy if it is before the end of the year.
All in all, I am very happy with my choice, have no buyers remorse and will be happy with this phone until my next upgrade which is in November of 2014. I always wait until my contract is up to upgrade and it is a choice I am happy with. I do read up on all the other phones until my next upgrade just because I love tech so much, but I do not let the latest and greatest get to me. As long as I can make calls, text, watch movies, play games and tinker, I am one happy camper.
I just had to put my two cents in. A lot of this is based on all the complaints across all the forums on all the phones (which I read) O
