Not in my experience at all. It can get warm while fast charging, but no overheating here.

No overheating for me either. I have experienced the phone getting warm when charging but that's all.

It was a late change. Focus groups said they wanted buttons vs. on-screen. The compromise was unlit buttons.

Just speaking personally I would prefer on screen buttons over unlit buttons

I agree. The build quality on the Honor 8 is excellent. Not sure if the OP got a defective unit or if they just don't prefer the smooth glass feeling of the back but myself and numerous bloggers / reviewers all agree that the build quality is superb.

Same. I'm on the fence regarding the Axon 7 due to the larger size and unlit buttons on the front. I would much rather prefer on screen buttons. Hell of a device otherwise.

The build quality is excellent, but I really enjoy a phone that has some heft to it. It makes the phone feel even more premium in my opinion.

Yeah, I certainly understand this feeling. Something that's too light can feel "cheap" like a toy.

I give the Honor 8 credit. My wife absolutely loves it coming from an iPhone. She enjoys the phone a lot and it's made her very happy.

That's awesome. I honestly think that that is why they made the ui the way they did... To capture some iphone users
