Anyone have any opinions on these two? Im switching from Sprint to a Tmo employee line so im gonna be picking up one of these in the next few days. As a Shack employee I obviously have access to play with both handsets but im still seriously torn, they both have allot going for them...

The Vibrant is better on paper and that screen is awesome, but in real life the slide is faster and I love that keyboard. I really like touchwiz, and cant stand the icons on the Slide, but the rest of sense is fine. I feel like the Slide might be outdated sooner, any thoughts on that?

Also any thoughts on the build quality issues of the Slide vs the general buggyness of the Vibrant?

Ill post this in the Vibrant forum to get the other side of the coin as well, thanks!

The vibrant is better, but most people got the slide, because htc made it, or for the physical keyboard, or others like myself couldn't wait for the vibrant or like myself again love the mytouch franchise

I went back and forth as you are between the two.

Both will be upgrade to v2.2 HTC in my opinion makes a more solid device. But the slowness of the Genius button having to load all contacts prior to use and the thickness of the device was not a plus for me.

I decided that the combination of the Vibrant's awesome display and more on board memory was the way to go, if I were hard set between the two.

In the end I believe I will be getting the Nexus One.

A mobile device is a very personal choice. I suggest you still go with the one you are most comfortable with.

I got the Slide knowing that the Vibrant was coming out soon but I just HAD to have the physical keyboard. Sad thing is now I hardly ever use it! I also thought the Slide would support Live Wallpapers but it DOESN'T! I really wish I would have waited for the Vibrant because the screen itself is amazing! But on the other hand, HTC Sense is pretty freaking cool! Both are getting Froyo though so its not that big of a deal to me.

Go with the Vibrant. Unless you want the physical keyboard.

If there's any chance you will be texting in a different language or with a mix of languages (like spanglish) you will like having a physical keyboard... as swype will be useless in those situations and if you are like me... sometimes in a hurry, can never tap the right letters while walking or making dinner, expecially when responding with slang or mixed language responses.

Thanks guys! Decided to go with the Vibrant, grabbed one last night. My tmo sim wont be activated for another week but I got it hooked up to wifi. Its a rather amazing phone, glad I picked it. No sign of the home button issue or any other glitches yet (knock on wood).

The screen is..... amazing. The touch screen is so much more responsive than the Evo I had and returned. The phone does feel a little plasticy, I wish it felt a little more solid like an iphone or the evo. But over all its a killer device.

If the Vibrant had a physical QWERTY, I'd find a way to ditch my Blackberry 9700 in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I'm stuck until a larger slider comes out for Android. I really like the Slide. It's great, but it's a little on the small side for my liking. I'm a woman with small hands but even with my contacts in, I prefer a larger screen and keyboard.

Isn't the Slide's screen bigger than the BB 9700?

I have just opened a new family account with tmo. I started out with the vibrant and loved everything about it BUT the call quality. That was a huge deal breaker for me. I now have a mytouch 3g slide. I am very pleased with the phone. I may be losing on screen size but my calls are crystal clear. very happy slide owner here.

I dont have any issues at all with that... Call quality has been flawless with my vibrant so far. Def one of the better phones I have owned in that regard.

I have a slide. My wife later got a vibrant. I am very jealous of the screen, graphics, and the huge internal memory. But I do like the physical keyboard, and my battery seems to last a lot longer (of course, she hasn't really put it down for a week, so that may balance out when the lust fades.).

I like sense a lot better than samsung's gui. And there are a few other quirks: For example, she can't give me a custom ringtone without adding me onto the phone list (rather than google contacts).
